P32 Chassis Brake Problems

P32 Chassis Brake Problems

Postby Springtime » Sat Feb 06, 2010 4:19 pm

Hi
I wanted to check if my chassis was one of the ones that needed the brake modification to the bellcrank shaft i.e. the addition of a grease nipple or zerk as the yanks would say.
I've had a look around and can't find where the bellcrank shaft is.
Is it visible from under the vehicle or under the bonnet?
Does anybody know?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve its under the bonnet drivers side.
Open the bonnet and get someone to operate the footbrake and you will see the shaft turn.
It should have a grease nipple in the middle of the shaft half way up,if it has not you can buy a standard grease nipple and drill and tap the shaft to accomodate this.
I think if you pm Olley he has made this mod to his.

Hi Colin does the P32 suffer with this problem as well? I thought it was only the W series.

Olley

PS. Just looked in the WS manual and I doubt they have a problem, the P32 uses a totally different braking system. This is the bell crank on a "W" series.
